The code provided below shows how to create a basic vertical layout using JavaFX.

VBox Syntax:

VBox vBox= new VBox();

How to Run This Code:

Make sure that your Class name is the same as ours. In this case, we are using the Class name of "Demo". Alternatively, you can change the Class name in the provided code to match yours.

Important Methods:

  • getChildren().addAll() - Used to add child elements or layouts to the vbox.
  • setSpacing() - Sets the vertical spacing between each of the vbox child elements.
  • setStyle() - Set an inline CSS-like style on the vbox. EX: "vBox.setStyle("-fx-background-color: green;");"
  • setAlignment() - Set how the child elements are aligned in the vbox. EX: "vBox.setAlignment(Pos.CENTER);"
